LAB ACTIVITY


            Objective:

            To sign the knowledge of symmetry.

            Materials Required:
            Papers, rangoli patterns.

            Preparation:
            Students work independently.

            Procedure:
              1.   Take a rect an gu lar piece of paper. Fold it twice. Draw
                   a diagram as shown in figure. Cut the shape drawn
                   and unfold the   paper. The resulting shape has two
                   lines of symmetry.
              2.   List all the objects in your school which are symmet ri cal. Draw the objects on paper and draw their
                   lines of symmetry.

                   Rangoli Patterns
                   Rangoli and Kolams are popu lar in our coun try. A few samples are given here. You can note the
                   use of symme try in them. Collect as many patterns as possi ble of these. Try to locate symmet ri cal
                   portions of these patterns along with the lines of symmetry.
