LAB ACTIVITY

Objective:

To make a protractor by paper folding.
Pre-requisite Knowledge:

(i) Concept of circle and half circle
(ii) Concept of a paper folding

Materials Required:
1. Glazed colour sheets of paper
2. A geom e try box
3. Coloured pens

4. A pair of scissors
Procedure:

1. Draw a circle with any suitable radius on glazed paper.
2. Cutout the circle from the glazed sheet of paper.
3. Fold it half and press it to form a crease.

4. Cutout the half circle so formed for the further paper fold ing activities.
5. Fold the half circle successively as shown in the Figures given below:

Observations:
On unfolding the half circle, we can observe that many creases are formed just as the different angles of a
protractor.

Conclusion:

The students will be able to make a protractor by paper folding.
